A Rare Sighting

Sculpture by Judy Clark
Sound by Nick Barker and Rob Jacobs
A Rare Sighting by Judy Clarke The work watches the viewer as the viewer watches the work.
The viewer is to be watched with care, irrelevant rather than dangerous, but nevertheless intrusive.
There is an atmosphere of curiosity countered with a withdrawal.
Like toys which animate when their child owner is asleep, the implication is that the structure has an existence that is hidden and apart.
There is a feeling of stalking, and being stalked, with the viewer provoking responses through movement in the space, the sculpture responding to this movement by halting as if interrupted, and monitoring the interruption
